Somerset County Council works with health and social care providers and the police to protect and safeguard vulnerable adults.
There are details of their policy and links to many organisations that can offer advice, information and support on the Council's Protecting adults and Report an adult at risk pages. They have also produced an information sheet - A8 Safeguarding Adults.
If you are a vulnerable adult and would like their help, or if you know of someone who needs help, please phone Somerset Direct on 0300 123 2224.
If you are worried about a child or young person who could be in danger please
- phone Children's Social Care on 0300 123 2224
- email Children's Services at email@example.com
- or phone the police on 101
The police will discuss what action should be taken with Children's Social Care.
In an emergency always contact the police by dialling 999.
